Scotty Oatman

Scott retired after 25 years of service in the U.S. Army before pursuing a lifelong dream of aviation. In just under ten years, he's logged more than 3,500 flight hours and 1600+ hours of dual instruction given — with a 100% first-time checkride pass rate for his students.

He holds Commercial Single and Multi-Engine Land certificates, a Single-Engine Sea certificate, Flight Instructor certificates for both single and multi-engine aircraft, an Instrument rating, and endorsements for tailwheel, high-performance, and complex aircraft. He trained aerobatics under Patty Wagstaff and teaches primary aerobatics in his own Super Decathlon.

Scott has since earned his Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate and now flies a Citation X for a private jet owner, with close to 500 hours in type and currently transitioning into another business jet.

Off the runway, Scott is a husband of 26 years. His son, also a pilot, graduated the Air Force Academy and now serves as a T-38 Talon instructor pilot in the U.S. Air Force. His daughter graduated college as a Division 1 athlete and is now pursuing her own career in aviation.

When he's not flying, Scott is hunting, fishing, skiing, scuba diving, or skydiving — and when he's really not flying, he's a buckle-winning cowboy, roping cattle on his horse, Boon.

Favorite aircraft: the Bellanca Super Decathlon and the Cessna 185 Skywagon on floats.

Patrick Moylan

Patrick “PatO” Moylan brings nearly 40 years in aviation to WETSU Aviation — as a fighter pilot, a commander, and a hands-on flight instructor.

He earned a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering, both from Cornell University, before commissioning into the U.S. Air Force in 1985. Over a 28-year career, he flew the F-15 operationally at Eglin, Langley, and Tyndall Air Force Bases, and completed an exchange tour flying the Tornado F.3 with the Royal Air Force's 43 Squadron in Scotland. He went on to command the 306th Flying Training Group at the U.S. Air Force Academy — right here in Colorado Springs — before capping his career as Vice Commander of 11th Air Force in Alaska. He retired as a Colonel in 2013, and is a graduate of both Air Command and Staff College and Air War College.

Patrick's ties to Colorado Springs aviation never broke stride. For more than ten years, he flew as a tow pilot and later Chief Pilot of Tow Operations at the Air Force Academy, launching cadet gliders into the same skies where he once commanded pilot training. Today, he owns Neehan Aviation LLC, where he's currently qualified and flying the Phenom 100, Citation II and V, and TBM-960, and serves as Chief Pilot at Falcon AeroLab, a local aerospace education program.
