Tailwheel Training That Builds Real Aircraft Control
Tailwheel flying requires precision, coordination and an understanding of how the aircraft responds as speed and energy change.
WETSU Aviation provides structured tailwheel training and endorsements in the Bellanca 8KCAB Super Decathlon N2JG.
Training progresses from fundamental aircraft control through takeoffs, three-point and wheel landings, crosswind work, short-field techniques and emergency procedures.

WATCH THE FULL VIDEO
Ground loops are a fundamental part of understanding directional control in a tailwheel aircraft. WETSU introduces ground-loop dynamics in a controlled training environment to help pilots recognize how quickly directional control can change even at low speed.
Understanding the airplane's limits can build better judgment, confidence and respect for tailwheel operations.
During their tailwheel training with Scotty at WETSU Aviation, pilots Jon and Justin were surprised to learn that controlled ground-loops could be a part of their training.
Their experience demonstrated an important principle of tailwheel flying: ground loops aren't to be feared, but respected.
Practicing at controlled, safe speeds can help pilots recognize the onset of a loss of directional control and better understand the limits of a tailwheel aircraft.
